Deploy takes one module end to end — a real deployment, in front of you, finishing with something running. Then you do the same in your own project, where the running infrastructure is yours and Google bills you directly, or in a project we manage on your behalf.
Build works a Google Cloud certification end to end as a live lab. The deployment is real, so every resource it creates is yours to explore in the console and on the command line.
